In 2019, in Segare village, Asmat Regency, Manokwari, West Papua, we were faced with a critical task: building an irrigation channel for a swampy area that required special attention. The challenges we faced were difficult access and the soft soil characteristics. To overcome this, we decided to use an innovative technology called Concrete Canvas.

Initial Conditions in Segare, West Papua

The difficult soil characteristics that made it difficult to form a proper channel were a major obstacle in this project. Therefore, we decided to use Class I wooden formwork to form the frame of the Concrete Canvas. This formwork provided the necessary strength and durability to ensure the long-lasting durability of the channel.

Within 24 hours, the channel is ready for use. For several years after installation, we monitored the condition of the channel without any additional maintenance. The results are quite impressive.
